the spectrum
freshly sanded Pignar Supreme by Junod/Campbell at Almar, headed for France.
180* the other way, an 11'1" pin tail by Andreini about to be sanded at SCBBG
Today was one of those days. Got a blank delivery for my own boards, and then did the rounds of the factories sanding some clean and fun looking boards, albeit 180* different. And, that's why its good to be involved. Always good to see varied and beautiful equipment being built, and hopefully ridden!

things I covet..
As a board builder, there's not too many things I don't just make for myself. However, for as long as I can remember, there's been 2 boards, by 2 different people that I have been drooling over. Both are twin fins, and both have inadvertently influenced my ideas about building twins. After all, my 1st "real" surfboard was a 5'2" Nectar twin fin back in the late 80s...
Me in S. Florida sometime in the 80s...
I guess it is natural to go back to riding twins full time after playing around with other designs for so long. I laugh when I look at this picture and think about all the "new" stuff out there these days.
Greg Griffin was there making twins when one of my favourite surfers of all time, Pottz, was riding them. His take is totally different than the modified MR templates, and fully modern. He's coming to Santa Cruz in May, and I'm saving my pennies...
Akila Aipa has reworked the twin fin concept into a super HP design, and his work with Rastovich verified the value and performance of modern twins. Someday....
2 fins = speed, freedom, & fun!
